14 year old - water fast - 1 day - lose weight?
Hey I want to lose 10lbs in 3 weeks but I've gone about 0.8lb off track. I've herd you can lose 1-2lbs per day by drinking only water and not eating anything - is this true? Would it be safe for me to do this if I only do it for a day, I'm 14? And will I lose any weight at all? Thanks.

You will not lose weight. The reason for this is that the weight you supposedly lose during the water fast is the 1-2 pounds of food that you eat during the day, which is normally in your stomache still being digested. If you dirnk only water, you will pee/sweat it all out, and appear lighter on the scale. However this isn't fat loss, and as soon as you eat again the scale will go right back because you will have food in your stomache again. Fasting for a day will not help you lose weight--but it IS good for your health and will help clean out the system, so it won't hurt you.

How much weight will I lose in 1 day of starving myself?
If any weight at all? I am 5' 2'', 162 lbs, wearing size 9 jeans, and I want to lose weight, because I know I am overweight. Please don't tell me that starving yourself is bad, because I already know, and I am doing it anyway. Can anyone tell me how much weight i will lose in 1-2 days of eating and drinking nothing but water? Thanks

you wont lose anything. trust me i tried it, all you feel is sick, and just plain terrible, and after a few days of doing that i went to the scale to see how much weight i lost and i had actually gained 4 pounds! i could not believe it! so then i did a bit of research on the computer after that and i found out that if you dont eat your body goes into starvation mode, and you body stores up fat to help keep you alive, and when it stores up fat it makes you gain weight. so i started to eat again right after i read that lol. just do what i did diet and exercise. eat 1300 calories a day, and things low in fat, and low in calories. only drink water or low in fat milk. dont eat junk food like pizza, chips, cookies, cakes, candy,etc. eat few carbs, but for bread eat whole grain bread or light rye, they are very low in calories and fat, and they tast delicous :) and eat alot of fruits and vegetables.eat 3 meals and 1 snack a day, or 4 smaller meals.oh and drink ALOT of water, that will help. and for exercise, i do 50 sit ups and 50 squats after i eat breakfast, and throughout the day i do an hour run around the neighborhood, along with my ipod :) and i watch a exercise video on youtube, and of course i follow along, my favourite is 30 min billy blank tae bo cardio :) and after i eat dinner i do stretches (random ones that i know) 50 squats, 100 jumping jacks, and 100 sit ups. and after dinner i dont eat for the rest of the day, unless drinking water. i used to weigh 130 lbs, but i lost 10 lbs in a month by doing this, so i now weigh 120 lbs, and am 5' 2" and i am still doing this to weigh at least 112 before september, so i will look good for when i start high school.so try this out, im positive this will work for you. :) Good luck :)

Can I lose weight in 1 day?
Im in 7th grade and im 132Ibs. i'm pretty tall, but still want to lose some pounds. Im going to a party this week, but only have 1 day to lose weight. I dont want to starve myself, or diet pills. Shopping for about 6hrs will help me but i need more tips. I know i drink at least 6 glasses of water each day. I exercise plenty, but not too much.

To loose weight in 1 day you first have to wake up in the morning and go for a run (around the block 2 times is fine). When you come back eat 1 yogurt, or 2 slices of toast with out butter just low fat jam. In the middle of lunch and breakfast exercise,exercise,exercise! Some good exercises like 25 push-ups and 25 sit-ups are good. At lunch eat a Low fat smoothie using skim milk instead of regular milk. In the middle of lunch and dinner take a 1 mile run. How many miles a week should I jog/run if I want to lose weight? Is 1 mile a day good enough?
Sometimes I can do 3 and sometimes doing one gets me out of breath. Would jogging/running 1 mile a day help me lose weight? Or does it have to be atleast 2 or 3 miles? Thanks!

running is good for a cardiovascular workout, but a mile a day isn't going to show you any results. A person should get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, and running one mile accounts for only about a third of it. But give yourself a pat on the back for exercising at all! If you like running the mile, run it everyday, following by some sprints and crunches, pushups, lunges, etc. If you combine all of these workouts with a bit of weight training, your body should be slim and toned in no time. And remember, the best way to lose weight is by combining a healthy diet with exercise. Load up on your protein, veggies, and fruit, and remember to say no to those afterschool or work treats like cookies or icecream and take it easy on the carbs, don't totally eliminate them. Carbs are important as they provide energy for your workouts. Good Luck!
